Commercial Property Manager

, New Zealand

I manage a $130M commercial portfolio containing a mix of retail, office, and industrial properties.

I have completed audits of the building service contracts and compliance for all my properties and decreased operating costs across the board by an average of 15%. I identified serious oversights by previous property management companies in ensuring compliance and health and safety regulations which have been corrected.

One site posed a significant security issue which I have rectified by communicating with all stakeholders including our client, tenants, council, contractors, and the broader community, and implementing strategies to deter criminal behaviour. This has resulted in increased business for tenants and a much safer area for the public.

I have also been involved in a land disposal strategy for a government client with an estimated value of $150M.

During this time I have begun my commercial property pathway, have featured in NZ Property Investor Magazine for contribution to property management articles, and have delivered guest lectures on property management at Auckland University.

Property Manager

, New Zealand

My entry into property involved the management of a portfolio of 200 residential apartments throughout Auckland.

I implemented strategies which greatly increased my teams productivity along with presenting company training lectures on dispute resolution and negotiation.

During this time, staff left the company and were not replaced quickly which resulted in me taking on the management of up to 500 apartments at one time.

I was offered the promotion to business development manager but instead chose to leave and pursue my career in commercial property.

Electrician

, New Zealand

I completed my electrical apprenticeship and worked as a service electrician prior to making the decision to go to university to pursue a career in property.

During this time I was responsible for multiple large scale projects and supervised up to 10 staff in completing projects.

I undertook a documentation review on ome project which identified inconsistencies which were able to he rectified before they caused problems.

I continued to work part time during my university studies.
