Achievements
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES :
• Developed a fully fledged research centre for Dementia and a reference library.
• Formed Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) at ARDSI which comprise of a neurologist, Psychiatrist, Geriatrician,
Theologian with doctoral degree, homeopathic physician, Ayurveda Physician, Naturopathy physician, Social worker and a
community representative.
• Initiated and facilitated a research project titled “A clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Curcumin
supplementation (CurQfen - The enhanced bio available formulation of curcumin) on Dementia patients having Mild to
Moderate decline in Locomotor activities and impairment in Learning/Memory.”
OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS
• Prepared project proposal and brought fund to conduct state wide campaign for Dementia Awareness covering 14 districts in
Kerala. The campaign covered more than 50000 people in the state.
• Brought financial assistance for executing the National Dementia Helpline.
• Initiated community programmes for creating Dementia Friendly Communities (DFC). The memory screening programmes
conducted in 70 wards at Cochin Corporation, Kerala.
• Compiled and prepared country wide report for ARDSI.
• Organized seminar for WORLD BRAIN AWARENESS week in March 2018. Faculties from National institute of Mental
Health and Neurosurgery (NIMHANS), Bangalore delivered classes. Documentary on the socio-economic dimensions of
Alzheimer’s was screened.
Major Responsibilities
• To prepare project/research proposals and submit to various funding agencies.
• Monitor the National Dementia Helpline Activities and prepare weekly planning roster
• memory clinic services and counseling
• To maintain liaison with Government officials, other NGOs and Social Workers.
• Give technical support and consultation to dementia volunteers in the community.
• Initiate various short term and long term training
