Started as Controller for the Italian Market (he set up the management accounting system), he took the opportunity to discover other very interesting roles, which proved to be very important for his professional growth: Network Controller (2003-2006), Payroll Controller (2005-2006), Internal Auditor (2006-2007) and, at the end, Group Controller (2008-2011).
In these positions, he collaborated:
• To produce and present weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual managerial reports on financial and competitive figures for the group and its subsidiaries, including analysis of actual vs. budget variances at both group and subsidiary level,
• To elaborate and communicate annual and quarterly objectives to subsidiaries, to lead the group budget process, to collect local plans, budgets and forecasts and to consolidate into group master ones,
• To prepare and present the annual audit plan to the Audit Committee, to carry out several audits of financial reporting of the group and its subsidiaries in Italy and UK, and to develop complete and accurate audit work papers supporting audit findings and recommendations to be discussed with departmental managers of audited companies and summarised in final audit reports to the Audit Committee. He was also member of the IIA and the AIIA.
• Moreover he set up and developed the control of all TLC network costs (leases of LLU copper pairs from incumbent, etc.), prepared annual department budgets and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with company’s management, met budget holders on a regular basis to review actual to budget results and to identify and rectify variances and carried out business modeling for new projects (LLU included).
