Assessing the crisis management systems and mechanisms in place in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior in terms of efficiency and suitability in order to identify procedural and operational gaps and advising on means of addressing short-comings. Designing training curricula on crisis management and delivering crisis management and crisis communication courses at the Iraq Federal Police Training Centre for Ministry of Interior senior management and Iraqi Police trainers.

Main tasks include coordination of actions implementation provided by the National Strategy on Justice Sector Reform and other relevant documents, within and between key stakeholders acting in criminal justice sector, until institutional capacity is established and strengthened; developing and implementing a system for evaluation of effectiveness in implementation of criminal prosecution policies created, as well as institutional and functional capacities of stakeholders acting in criminal justice sector build and developed to ensure efficiency of pre-trail activities of investigation; advising and training on modern and efficient investigative methods and techniques of criminal case management; developing skills, building and strengthening institutional capacities (improving legislative framework, developing procedures, training personnel including through their specialisation, and introducing equipment).

Main duties consists in providing constant mentoring and advising to Prosecutorial Council (KPC) members, including the Chief State Prosecutor, on managerial and legislative issues pertaining to their respective competencies in supporting the institutional effort to build a solid Rule of Law system. Major achievements include supporting in drafting the package of laws required for a substantive reform in the judiciary, in order to align the legislation to European standards, advising on matters related to the European Union’s requests for institutional reforms in order to achieve visa liberalization regime, advising on institutional reform and establishing efficient institutional processes, increasing accountability and professionalism in the Prosecutorial Council and the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor.

Performing criminal investigations in major violent crimes, financial investigations, corruption cases; managing and coordinating complex teams of investigators and specialists for each investigation, delegating investigative actions to judicial police officers or other law enforcement agents when deemed needed. Coordination and responsible for the overall investigative process. Upon completion of investigations, filing the indictment with the Court and presenting the case during the court proceedings. As part of his duties, performing cross-borders investigations in cooperation with prosecutors from other urisdictions, with special emphasis on tax evasion investigations.

Main tasks included leading and managing the Anti-Corruption Unit (part of Rule of Law component) by directing and coordinating the activity of the team of international and local staff in advising, mentoring and training to the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and Attorney General's Office (AGO) on anti-corruption issues. The team consisted of international trainers and advisers, providing technical advice, support and training on transparency and accountability measures within the Afghan MoI and Afghan Attorney General's office, as well advising on the development of national and sector policies. In close cooperation with other units, the department was tasked as well to ensure a coherent countrywide approach on accountability and transparency.
Other tasks included, but are not limited to: Collaborating closely with the High Office of Oversight, key parties concerned, such as EU Delegation, EU member states, UNODC, ISAF, US DoJ, JSSP, and other external partners; Leading project networking and partnership development with the aim to enhance coordination and cooperation among key parties concerned; Reporting to the Head of Rule of Law Component on a regular basis on the developments and results of the activities undertaken; Mainstreaming Professional Standards and Anti-Corruption issues within the mission and towards the local counterparts; Curriculum development and training delivery; Daily management of the Unit; Project coordination, implementation and evaluation; providing leadership and management, strategic guidance and supervision for the Unit staff.
Major achievements included mainstreaming Anti-Corruption through the Mission, advising and training senior management in Attorney General's Office and Minister of Interior, setting-up strategies and policies in the anti-corruption field.

The core duties consisted in representing EUPOL mission in the Kandahar Province by facilitating the establishment, building of and maintenance of a constructive relationship with police and justice sector interlocutors within the international and local communities, as well as those in the political sphere. This was achieved by liaising with international actors present in the area of operations, especially ISAF, NATO Training mission (NTM-A), UNAMA, EU Special Representative, relevant NGOs, and contractors, in order to facilitate and ensure smooth conduct of operations. Activities were conducted by coordinating and cooperating with international actors in implementing Mission’s mandate, as well as supporting international actors operating in the same Province in implementing their mandate by establishing common and coordinated approach towards the local counterparts, within the limits of mission’s mandate.

Implementation of the mission’s strategic objectives in the Fayzabad city (Badakshan Province) by means of strategic planning and operational implementation against mission’s mandate. Setting and overseeing the implementation of sector development plans (justice, anti-corruption, police-prosecutor cooperation, management and leadership), training delivery and mentoring/advising activity performed by the field office international staff. Representing the EU in relation to international and local counterparts, local and international NGOs, civil society and religious leaders, as well establishing cooperation with the same in achieving common objectives. Major accomplishments include the creation of the Community Policing Program, a concept which was later adopted by the Afghan Ministry of Interior and implemented countrywide, the creation and implementation of other community-oriented projects for Afghan police (school officers, phone line).

The major task consisted in providing legal and judicial support for the International Judges in the Criminal Section of the Supreme Court by performing legal, doctrine and jurisprudence research.
Other duties included: assisting the International Judges in all court procedures and preparations, drafting legal and judicial documents for the Court; organizing court sessions; taking part as observer in Court deliberation and drafting rulings, decisions and judgments on behalf of the International judges; assisting the Chief International judges in administrative and disciplinary procedures, in her capacity of Chief of the Assembly of International Judges in Kosovo.

Providing support for the UNMIK Judges in the District Court of Pristina area and further in the Special Chamber of the Supreme Court by drafting judicial documents, performing legal research, taking part in Court deliberation, acting as focal point in relation to other international and local actors related to Court proceedings, liaising with local and international authorities in order to organize Court hearings

As a Self-employed position assigned by the Ministry of Justice, I was providing consultancy in civil, commercial, family, financial, tax and employment matters, upon request of the parties. Following mediation and negotiation, drafting and legalizing contracts for the parties in all matters where an agreement was reached. Performing the legal inheritance procedure for the public when agreement could be reached.Major achievements include several new concepts and solutions for legal issues which were later embraced and currently used on the national level.
